Which ferry to Monhegan?

I am heading to Monhegan Isle for 3 nights Wed. Sept. 7, 2011. I volition be staying in Boothbay Harbor Tuesday night. Will head to Camden afterward that. Can you share opinions, pros and cons to ferry from BBH or New Harbor?
Can't wait to render to Monhegan later a solar day visit several years ago. Thanks for your input. Beloved 2

Basically, the BBH ferry (Balmy Days Three) takes about 25 minutes longer to make the run than exercise either the New Harbor or Port Clyde ferries. The Hardy Gunkhole (New Harbor) gives you a bit more flexibility, i.e., ii divergence times a solar day, each way.
Other than that, I tin can't help much---coming downwardly from MDI, we ever utilise the Port Clyde ferries.

In that location is no major advantage or disadvantage in the ferries themselves so far as I can meet. Check the schedules and locations and see which difference fits all-time with your itinerary.
BBH would exist an easy pick if you were leaving from in that location, but it looks like yous are coming from Camden, in which case Port Clyde would be somewhat closer.

If the conditions are decent, the Balmy Days Iii does a excursion effectually the island for a nominal fee---well worth it.

A friend of mine indicated that taking the ferry from Port Clyde is worth information technology and cars can park for $5.00? May accept gone up.
Has anyone been to John Sterling Harbor Firm? I tin't seem to find a phone number, will look in directory assistance. Whatever particular restaurants to frequent?

I think that that is nonetheless the tariff for parking (we went to Monhegan in early on September). There is a nice fiddling restaurant in Port Clyde with lots of outdoor seating that serves, in additon to the standard seafood fare, a great lobster panini. The general store there has a large selection of snacks, wine, etc.

In that location are very few restaurants on Monhegan Island. There is a dining room in The Isle Inn and at Monhegan House. Other than that in that location are two general stores which have pizza or sandwhiches, a dockside coffee firm, and maybe, depending on the twelvemonth or fourth dimension of the year, i other place.
